Go for the shorter callsign! It's not like you're that attached to your current callsign, and if you ever get into CW (Morse), it might be an advantage.

Turns out the Extra systematic callsigns aren't that much shorter. I may go for a vanity callsign if I don't like the one I get.

Stick with what works. There are a lot of new, untested classes in the new curriculum, and you don't know if they'll be good. Besides, there are opportunities to substitute new classes for old ones if one of them turns out to be cool. (And you get to say "Back in the day...")
