It's not actually oak, it's particleboard with an oak foil finish. It's not veneered or varnished, but you do have to use a special primer or the paint will just sort of slide off (I've done this before). Anyway, riv overruled me because she really really wanted to have the bed together (and we may end up moving this summer anyway, so I could paint it then).

I actually ended up ordering both (so that I can agonize over it in front of a mirror, I guess), but I'm leaning towards wearing the three-quarter-sleeve.

I'm getting a toaster now, because I really like the way it pops up, and if in the fall we find ourselves wanting to make lots of grilled cheese, bagel pizzas (oh man, I had almost completely forgotten about those, and remembered them while staring at a toaster oven at the store), and so forth, we'll get a toaster oven as well.

Although I'm going to call the company that makes them to see whether the soft cups are removable, in which case I'll get the soft cup top.

Cute as the illustration is, it's probably way too complicated for a shirt. Also, the color doesn't really fit into my existing wardrobe.

I'm going to get flowers for my room, so it'll be pretty, and maybe flowers for my hair (and also for my girlfriend's hair if she wants them). I realized that I have an aversion to anything even possibly uncomfortable on my wrist, and I'm such a klutz that I'd probably manage to partially denude the corsage before the evening was out.

I'm kind of dubious about the benefits of Pilates, but I'm even more dubious about swinging a racket around.

Doxory can be embedded in LiveJournal posts now, which makes this an easier decision. Also, I could never figure out how to use AdBlock Plus and it kept blocking things I wanted to see and completely screwed up embedded YouTube videos.

So, people's ideas for small things we could do in addition to keeping doing what we've been doing were in line with what I had in mind for making a big deal out of the anniversary. I wonder what this says about me? izzycat: I don't think I could ever want to kill someone if they forgot our anniversary. I'd kill them if they forgot what it was like to kiss when we had first started doing so, but not over a date. So, I'm saying that I decided to "Make a big deal out of it on the day itself", but I agree with the people who left comments on the "Keep doing what we've been doing" side of things.

I bought the light denim jeans and am buying the dark denim jeans once they aren't back-ordered. Conclusion: If something seems unusually good to you, it will seem unusually good to other people. Buy it now, *before* it's back-ordered.
