Two days late, but at least it's finally finished. http://www.queenoflub.com/compeuse/D.mp3
Oops yeah. Desktop is a G4, too. But it still sucks more.
ugh, fine. actually, it gives me a good reason to frequent my favorite coffeeshop on my way home from work while waiting for rush hour traffic to settle down.
Oops, I waited too long to get tickets and now they're ridiculously expensive. Oh well, there's always next year..
One of my best weekends. I also felt superior to everybody else who had brought their laptops. Hah!
I got out of work 3 hours later than I had planned. Ended up missing the movie. Only had enough energy to eat dinner, check e-mail, and go to bed.
I now keep the laptop in the living room (my parents are happy because I get to "sit with them" and they get to distract me while I'm tring to read e-mail), and use the desktop whenever I'm in my room. However, I don't like moving my laptop around too much because I keep having to plug/unplug a dozen (not really, just three or so) peripherals each time I change a location. I don't want to throw my desktop away because I'm sentimental like that, and it still works.
good points, everyone. of course, not lowering the quality goes without saying.
whoa. work takes up more time than I had thought.
rephrased the question.
Aaahhhhh.... I suddenly have all this space opened up! new layout is up.
Ugh, I just remembered that I have to be at a recital that afternoon, too... so I guess that's a bad weekend to be traveling.
I was considering Mail since Gmail supports IMAP now. Anyway, I figured out how to have two browser profiles open, and I also found this add-on: http://www.longfocus.com/firefox/gmanager/
I had made two such resolutions in the year 2007. I kept one, and failed at the other. I decided to reattempt the failed one with a more lax set of rules. If that also fails, I won't continue next year.
blood and gore in moderation! (nothing I draw is too extreme, anyway.)
I went through some fonts I liked, and my favorite one happened to be sans.
a combination of everything, but mostly stuff about my surroundings. http://www.twitter.com/melike
Good! Status quo it is, then. :)
I just read my older diary entries and I really appreciate myself for writing down things that I knew I might forget.
Yay, I've got nothing to lose.
I figure the cover letter will be enough to explain what kind of a job I'm thinking of doing. I'll include objectives only if I'm not applying to any specific position. I guess I don't see the point of writing an objective that's just a paraphrase of the job description.
Compromise: dark burgundy. It looked weird at first, but then I liked it. Not sure if I'm ready for black yet. (Also, for people who suggested nailpolish remover: I guess my question implied "should I wear black nailpolish and go out into public with it?") Also, I was too lazy to go out and buy it, hah.
I started off with a big post about all my works-in-progress. I'm a bit iffy about sharing "confidential information," but I'll get over it.. or only refer to it in a very roundabout way and piss everybody off.
Whoa, you guys are right! Mail sent to [firstname].[lastname] automatically redirects to my current e-mail! Yes!!!
I began coloring it on the computer. I can put so much more detail into it and it's turning out great. I'll practice other stuff on traditional media later.
I freaked out and told my mom. Turns out I've gone over the limit, but it's not a huuuge difference. Phew. Now I know the password with which I can check my usage status, which I was too afraid to ask about until tonight.
I tend to think very intensely about one thing for a week or two, but then my brain switches over to something else (that's equally useless). So, at least there's a nice variety of obsession. It's all in good fun.
I just look up the stuff I need online for now. Although, I should go through a proper tutorial one of these days.
I bought the name and slept on it for a month. Not enough consensus.
Yes, kyrandil, it was a "real" coffeeshop. :)
I completely deleted the middle section and started over. I already have great ideas! So liberating! I might integrate elements from the parts I deleted...
Ugh, you guys always choose the more difficult option. I started reworking an old composition, but it still needs a lot more work. There's no way I can finish it tonight, but I'll work on it later.... maybe.
Actually, I removed the Doxory app off my profile and put my Graffiti wall in its place. I like using Doxory through Facebook better, but my multitude of unresolved dilemmas was flooding my profile.
I replaced it with a generic Interests section. I hadn't spread myself out too thin anyway.
I'm sending nice new year cards... using some common new year phrases I found in Google. I figure a sentence or two is more than enough. Yay!
Meh. I spent countless hours on this and finally decided to give up. It sounds like crap, so I'm ditching it. Shouldn't have tried it!!! I could have been doing something else this whole time.. boohoo.. whatever......
It looks great!! See for yourself: http://www.queenoflub.com/smile/2007/07/project-of-week.shtml Thanks, Doxory! :)
I want something permanent. My interests come and go over the years, but my name will always stay the same.
Yeah, whatever.
Sorry, but I get unhappy when I don't have a million things to do. I already have two or three personal projects in mind as well, but I'd die if I sat at home all day. I need something to break up my schedule.
The main page has a small snippet of the latest blog entry. You can go to the blog to read the rest. Now the main page looks clean enough. (www.queenoflub.com if you want to see.)
For some reason, I felt uncomfortable using sexymelike (even though I'm still kinda sexy, I guess). The FAQ says that it's not possible to rename accounts or transfer statistics. I figured that I'd always be listening to music, and so I'd reach 2000 tracks again eventually. No big loss. My old account reminds me of what a bad year 2005 was. heh. Besides, it might be interesting to see how my musical tastes have changed since then.
Laziness! Procrastination!
I'm going to the Berkshires with a group of friends this weekend. I get back on Monday, and after that I'll stick around here and tie up loose ends. The reason I'd wanted to visit New York was that I live in California, so I don't know when would be the next time I'd be in the East Coast, but oh well. I'll definitely see New York some other time. (Sorry Asli!)
Actually, I was able to do both. I let her know that I'd be back a little bit later, and went to the island party with the boyfriend. The frosh had fallen asleep, so she had moved the dinner two hours back. I was just in time to contribute something of my own to the dinner and hang out for over two hours. Both events were great.

I have been looking for this ring for a long time, and it wasn't probable that I was going to find it before I left here. So... meh. But on the bright side, yay I can wear a Brass Rat again. It's been horrible not wearing one. truly. AND I didn't need to find the proof of purchase; they found my original order for me. I haven't told my mom yet; my dad knows, but my mom will be pretty disappointed in my irresponsibility. oh well...
