Still up in the air

Im trying to figure out whether or not I should date this guy Jimmy, whos asian, which is a problem because id never really be allowed to see him or anything cause my parents are really religious. I really like him, hes a great guy... I know he would take care of me the best he could. Hes not the smartest in the world, but hes really really cute and sweet. I know its wrong, and my friends give the most horrible advice, so thats why I'm turning to this website, and you guys to help me figure out what I should be doing. Is it important to make yourself happy over your parents happiness? I mean I guess if theyre not happy I'm essentially not happy in the long run, I would want them to be able to come visit me and their grandchildren some day, and have it not be weird. And what would I do about marriage???? My parents would definately want me to have a traditional orthodox jewish wedding, with the full coverage dress and the separation of men and women and the whole thing, but maybe his parents want the same for him? Maybe they would want a traditional christian wedding? How would something like that ever be worked out? Am I thinking to far ahead into the future? ...

Should I date Jimmy and risk complete alienation from my family? leads over Should I decide to pas son the opportunity and praty that I get picked up by some fine looking orthodox Jewish man before I get some hideous one that my parents chose for me? What do you think? (2 years ago)
