Set in stone

I'm a PhD student. I don't have a job for the summer (the teaching gig I was hoping for fell through). I should start working on my research but the prospect of doing that full-time scares me. I have savings, so I don't need the money....

I'm doing my research, but I'm kind of scared about it. I'm still kind of hoping that a teaching gig comes through, but I'm not holding my breath.

Saturday night, I could go to the party where the prospective grad students will be (and which will have alcohol), or to a play which features actual live people having sex. (I *could* do both, but it would be awkward scheduling-wise.)...

Still not sure. I think I'm going to aim for somewhere in between but I am full of angst about how to do that without getting *too* many people looking at me like I'm some sort of freak.
