I decided to do Something else rather than Switch my primary mail reader to gmail and consume their CPU / Disk or Still using a local Mail.app. But permanent delete all my old mails for disk space (3 years ago)
I did both. Gmail is not my first line of mail processing, anti-spam and simple filter rules happens there. But I still use Mail.app to download mails from gmail to locally archive my email.
