Get the camera with the 18-55mm kit lense ($70 more than just getting the body), then getting the $250 55-200mm VR lense. leads over
Wait much longer to save up enough money to get the camera (body only) and the $800 18-200mm VR lense. It'll basicallt the lense that I'll use 90% of the time since it covers the same focal length as the other two combined. Less lense means less dust so I don't have to clean the sensor as much which I'm nervous about. But that $800 is gonna hurt. (2 years ago)
Get the Nikon D40 (6MP), save $200 to spend on lenses, flash, etc. and
Get the newer D40x (10MP) for $200 more. It's the exact same camera but with 4 extra mega pixels and the ISO goes down to 100 (D40's lowest is ISO200). The sensor size is about the same as a D40 and it's not the same 10MP sensor as the D80 or D200. are tied (2 years ago)
I decided to do
Something else rather than
Get the Nikon D40 (6MP), save $200 to spend on lenses or other accessories. or
Spend the extra $200 for the new Nikon D40x (10MP), the exact same camera but with 2 extra mega pixels. (2 years ago)
