Still up in the air

I overbooked. My friends planned a weekend in Chico -- I thought we were staying all weekend. Then, boyfriend bought tickets to a concert in SF for that Saturday. I told my SF friends I could hang out with them Saturday and go home with boyfriend at night. But boyfriend's having a guys' night and is going to spend Sat. night with his brother. I decided it was too much driving for me, and would stay in Chico all weekend with other friends. Now I feel guilty for ditching out on SF friends....

My out-of-town friends have been wishy-washy on Cinco de Mayo plans. One is sick and I can sense that she would rather ditch the plans we made and stay home. The other friend (in town) says to wait and see what the first one decides to do....

I like my job, but work under some folks who can be mean. There is an opening in-house ... I want to apply for it, but I don't want my managers to burn me when they find out I'm "looking." Also, the company I work for is contracted out of the building I work in. They encourage ambition. But office politics are office politics....
