Either is fine--and they're mostly equivalent.

It depends on the sort of job. If it's a "real" sort of job, then it's useful experience, the way a UROP would be. If it's a job like working desk or something, then it's still useful for job experience, but it's less useful in terms of the skills you get from it.

Do you want to go to grad school? I get the impression UROPs are really useful for getting things like (CSAIL) M. Eng. funding. If not, internships/jobs tend to pay better than UROPs.

If you want to do research, get a UROP, otherwise get a job.
