Doxory?

quince has decided my sister's birthday is in a week and I haven't gotten her anything yet :(

I picked something else

send her something from amazon, so it gets there in time (cheaper, easier, but it feels like a cop out)

... The google ads seem to be suggesting T-shirts. I'm not sure why.

There's no shame in Amazon, especially since you'll need to get said gift shipped anyway.
madcaptenor
If you spend the day shopping, you run too much of a risk of not finding anything good and having to fall back to amazon anyway.

Are you likely to find something while shopping that you can't find on Amazon?

Now that Amazon has things from other retailers sold through it, there's a ridiculous variety of awesome stuff on there. On the other hand, there are some really cool stores near where you live, so if you have some stores already in mind where you're almost *certain* you'll find something that she'll like, go shopping!

I'd go with the amazon gift card or other. That way, she can pick the coolest gift, adn it will still be from you.

spend the day shopping, hoping I find something cool, and send it via regular mail (more expensive and time-consuming, with a lower chance of success, but with potentially much cooler results)

I still think individual things are better :^)

cool > timely

In that the price of sending things through the post is relatively negligible...

It feels like a cop-out because it is a cop-out.

Go shopping, get ideas. If you find something, great - send it via regular mail & I doubt she'll mind. If you don't find something - oh well - you can still go to amazon.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
