Doxory?

quince has decided I bought a dress that is pretty, but isn't flattering on me. it may be if I lose 10 lbs.

through the miracle of control-top pantyhose, I realized it does look good on me the equivalent of ten pounds lighter. which is totally within my normal weight range, yay.

My choice: keep it - nice dresses will come in handy

Some day, whether you plan it or not, you'll be shaped differently. Hang on to it, and good luck. :)

Consider getting the dress taken out a little bit. It depends on the construction of the dress, but it may be possible.

how seriously do you expect to lose weight?

get rid of it - no reason to keep something that doesn't make you look good

It *might* flatter you *if* you lose 10 pounds. I'd say get rid of it/give it away/whatever - no sense in keeping something that doesn't definitely make you look good or is good for other reasons.

If you have a history of losing and gaining and losing 10 pounds, then keep it for the next time the cycle repeats. Otherwise, get rid of it.

If it doesn't look good on you now, return it. There will still be plenty of pretty dresses if you lose 10 lbs, and you'll get to have fun shopping for one then.

If you're planning on losing the weight anyway, keep it (insofar as anyone can ever "plan" to lose weight.) If you think it'll just sit there in your closet and laugh at you, though, get rid of it.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
