If you can be reasonably sure the laptop is safe, take it with you. Just don't let it interfere with your vacation (if your trip is actually a vacation).
i'd decide based on theft rates in the area you'll be.
depending on how hectic your spring break is, you may well end up with some down time in the early morning or evenings. using it to get ahead of some work might not be a bad idea ...

vacation good!
Travel light.
Bringing laptop overseas is a hassle.
Take a proper break so you'll be fresh when you get back.
Leave the laptop at home and bring nothing with you, enjoy spring break!
Take nothing but the clothes on your back (and not even those if you can get through customs without.)
Take a break!!
If you can manage it without serious problems. I'm betting there are computers there - upload or email yourself a crapload of the work and work on it there?

take down old ones!
Vacation time should be just that. Relax and enjoy yourself. There is no one place, nor one person, important enough to displace your happiness.
spring break's over, dude, close the question!
Don't take anything - have a break and enjoy it!
