Become a Residence Counselor. Pros: Guaranteed single, $2,500. Cons: Probably in a freshman dorm, must come back much earlier / leave much later before / after semesters, chance of ending up with shitty residents I have to take care of.

Seems like a lot of responsibility to accept just to avoid the room draw. That you listed taking care of residents as a "con" suggests that this isn't the post for you.

I would recommend against becoming an RC unless you really enjoy taking care of people in the ways they do.
