Doxory?

geoff has decided Two apartments in SF: two bedrooms, chill, really rather pricey (relative to market and budget), decent neighborhood, decent room, decent building, decently decorated, share with cute chill gay furniture designer, instantly comfortable there, similar to previous half decade of my life, 6+ month commitment; *or* seven bedrooms, one other guy, cats, dogs, lesbians, strippers, punk rockers, thin walls, project space, backyard, no crack addicts have lived here in at least a year, next to trendy nightlife, not the worst part of town, cluttered, slightly run down, 30 days notice to move out, just paint the walls back to white before you go, ~$350/mo less (can afford to patronize said nightlife), incompatible with "having nice things"?

I chose the 2BR place, which was decent enough, but the roommate turned out to be.. ah.. not as represented.

I picked something else

2BR: Settle down, have nice things, maybe stay a while, ensure that I can tastefully entertain new acquaintances and associates

I like settling down. It depends on how you feel abut it at this point.

7BR: Balance my snotty professional career and smartypants friends with utter bedlam at home, at least until I can find a warehouse/loft of my own

As long as they don't steal your laptop, sounds like a fine thing to do.

tl;dr

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
