Doxory?

Mark has decided My Lexmark E210 is running low on toner. (other than that, it works perfectly with cups on ubuntu.) A new one, including 1000 page cartridge, is $45; a 2000 page toner cartridge is $90.

laziness won :-)

My choice: Just get the cartridge

kyrandil
look into refilling the cartridge. my sister got a $150 laser printer & the image drum died almost immediately. they got her another one, and it broke again.
seph
remember the next cartridge will have the same conundrum, and this generates less waste.

Printers are like modems, you never want to mess with them once they work!
kilroi
no need to waste resources on a new piece of stuff

See what $90 worth of laser printer is these days (bearing in mind the cost of getting it working)

I'm confused. Did you put the prices in reverse?

You gain nothing by buying the 2k toner if it's exactly double the price of the 1k toner-- go with the smaller one!

IIRC, you can use the (cheaper) toner cartridge for the equivalent Samsung printer, after filing off a single plastic tab.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
