My choice: No, suck it up. PITA to update changes in phone number with everyone else.

You could make it painful for 781-xxx-xxxx; "take messages" for example, or send people to their competitor.

Start answering your phone as that company and turn ridiculous on them; perhaps the other company will change their number instead.
