photon has decided Getting a grad rat before prices go up June 30. Parents (bless their hearts) are paying for it.

Prices aren't going up too much. Waiting for the fall.

lakmiseiru: Unless you're planning on wearing the gold one often (job interviews, conferences, etc), I'd stick with the steel one. Despite having a gold one, I almost never wear it - it seems like they're more useful in the professional world than the academic one.
melike: The gold one is ugly imo. Not really, but I wear silver more often than gold, so the gold one would have looked out of place. I wear mine all the time, but the older alums seem to find that amusing.

Ian: If you are going to wear it/them regularly. I have big-knuckle syndrome and hardly wear my one gold rat.
