Doxory?

melike has decided I have two computers and one license to install Max/MSP. Which one shall it be? (Or, as option Z, you could tell me to hold out for a new computer.. except, I don't know if I'll do that in the near future.)

Oops yeah. Desktop is a G4, too. But it still sucks more.

G3 desktop on Leopard, which is faster but has been mysteriously crashing as of late. (Also I have to pay money and upgrade the Max/MSP, because the version I bought last year isn't compatible with Leopard.)

... i thought all the g4s were supposed to be faster than the g3s?

My choice: PowerBook G4 running Tiger, which is slower and heats up my leg horribly when I tell it to do something. (It's been reliable; I was planning on changing it this year, but I think it might hold out for another year.)

I'd stick with the reliable, if slow and hot, computer. Store it on a desk while it crunches. That way you don't need to worry about paying to upgrade Max/MSP and having it not work.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
