She's getting to the unenviable stage where she shouldn't be driving any more but lives in a culture where driving is the only option. See if you can find out if she's surrendering her license. Also, shouldn't her insurance pay, since she's clearly at fault?
Shouldn't her insurance pay for the damage? Look into that first, then sue if you actually need the money more than you think she does.
Build rapport with her and ask her HOW she would prefer to pay for the damage (and give her a few options).
Figure out how much it'll cost to fix it, and ask her if she's willing to pay you that amount before asking for insurance to pay for it?
doesn't insurance deal with this?
