xeger: I try to get people things that are meaningful/memorable -- whether that's a care package for the starving student/grad, a business card case, a whacky piece of memorabilia I know they'll love, or the perfect words for that time.
jtf: If you want computer games, you can't really go wrong with any of the Myst series (for puzzlers), the Civilization series (strategy games), currently on iteration IV, or the half-life series (first person shooters).
