Doxory?

snobiwan has decided Two co-workers have invited me to two different parties on Friday evening

No babysitter and I can't really leave my wife at home with the kids while I go out to have fun. Otherwise I would have picked the birthday party -- good points all.

I picked something else

Go downtown (which is closer) to an overpopular bar and get all my drinks bought for me.

Any brilliant advice would certainly be appreciated. Shameless advocacy is often good, too.

Go into the next province to a birthday party in a more private setting, likely be provided with free drinks, but have a much harder time getting home.

This sounds more unique.

Smaller social gatherings > larger social gatherings. Just make plans for getting home ahead of time.

Which has people/interactions you'll enjoy? How much to you care about free drinks?

Which coworkers are you closer to? Which party would you rather attend, if transport weren't a problem? Choose, then make it work.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
