Doxory?

kyrandil has decided 3 identically-sized disks, software raid exclusively

i already set it up as a mirror and a nonredundant disk. shifting to raid5 would require a 4th disk temporarily... so... laziness. (also, not a modern processor -- 7y.o.)

Having more "safe" storage makes sense. Even if you do lose a bit of speed.

A modern processor shouldn't be /too/ hosed by software raid 5, I wouldn't think.
