Doxory?

gugod has decided Since UL is always a list of things, when given an class name to UL, what makes more sense: Plural form (ul.ctegories) or Single form (ul.category).

My choice: Plural (ul.categories)

The UL is a list of categorieS. In my mind, ul would be plural and li would be singular.

Single (ul.category)

Mark
the list is singular ("collective" if you will) so I'd use single. But I'd dig through examples, starting with CSS Zen Garden, first...
lakmiseiru
Less confusing when it's just one name.
kyrandil
each instantiation of the unsorted list is singular
Solus
I think of it as "the ul.category"
constance
I usually use single, but I could see a possible scenario with a plural.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
