melike has decided Include an objective in my resume?

I figure the cover letter will be enough to explain what kind of a job I'm thinking of doing. I'll include objectives only if I'm not applying to any specific position. I guess I don't see the point of writing an objective that's just a paraphrase of the job description.

Yes, it makes you sound like you know what you want.

They're not taken very seriously in my field, but any additional information helps (as long as the objective isn't so far afield from the particular job that I read it and say "so why are you even interviewing here, if that's your objective?")

But make it vague! Or tailor it to each place you apply.

Yes, it indicates direction and helps HR people find out what to poke you at.

My choice: No, it makes you seem less flexible.

Unless it's relevant for the job you're applying for.

Only if you feel like there's something interesting about your "story" that isn't communicated by the rest of the document.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
