Doxory?

zkzkz: Should I own an mp3 player? I want to be able to listen to audio and preferably watch video podcasts like the Colbert and Daily Show torrents and the Economits audio edition, not just listen to a big music collection (which I don't really bother much with any more)

The Creative Zen Plus 4GB?

Sounds like you have your mind made up. Any reason not to get the Zen?

video iPod (seriously unimpressed by Creative, really)
coolworld
just go with a video ipod. 4GB is pretty small these days.

a lot of cellphones can do that these days, consider upgrading rather than carrying another frob?

4GB doesn't go that far towards video. And if you use iPod and iTunes, you can get Colbert/Daily Show automatically instead of needing to manually torrent every day.

Vision:M (by creative) if you can swing it. Nice screen for video :)

Duh, an iPod. The only reason they're overpriced is because of what Microsoft is doing to Apple. Apple needs all the business they can get, and plus, iPods are now the standard for cool.

I generally hear good things about creative. Though I wonder how easy it is to transfer/sync podcast style content is.

I don't really like the tiny screens they have to use in these devices, they're kind of annoying to stare at for hours. my DS is bad enough for my posture, and the N800 I'm using for work is worse.

Should != "which one."

Any brilliant advice would certainly be appreciated. Shameless advocacy is often good, too.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
