Doxory?

trs has decided What color should I re-paint an old Sunfish? (It needs new paint anyway.)

I think tradition is where it's at. Light blue hull, white deck. Dark colors in general aren't really an option anyway because on a sunny day they'll fry your flesh.

My choice: Don't change its color. Keep it the old, light blue standard all around. Tradition, man.

Aren't marine-worthy paints expensivish? ... I guess you did get it for free.

Dude, it's all about the old-style Vanguard blue hull with a white deck.

Use a different color! Be bold! Maybe paint the hull a different color than the deck. (Please suggest one or two colors.)

One of my favorite paint colors are terra cotta-ish colors. would that be weird?

Yay, you got the sailboat! My first impulse is "crimson with grey highlights", but that's the colors I see at the closest/accessible sailing pavilion... Pick something that will look good when the paint's gotten weathered but you haven't had time to repaint. I don't know what kind of colors those might be though. Sorry!

maybe something with red/orange/yellow?

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
