Doxory?

ntn has decided Work will supply me with a laptop for mad coding fun, but I'm not sure which to pick.

Pick the MacBook--smaller, lighter, but fewer pixels, slower, and less RAM

My choice: Pick the MacBook Pro--more pixels, more speed, more graphics, more ram.

istr that you won't have another desktop/laptop at home... just the colo server. go for the bigger shiny.

If you're going to be doing a fair bit of your work locally, more powerful is better.

..but it's well-known that I like big screens, and I cannot lie.

Don't you already have a MacBook?
Mark
it's a mac, you'll need more ram.

I chose Macbook Pro for better typing experience ( I was using powerbook before ), not because of the display. An nice looking, 1024x768x72dpi screen is enough for coding for me.

It really depends on whether you're the sort of person who carries your computer around a lot. Personally, given this choice I'd go for the MacBook Pro, but I basically never take my computer anywhere.

I am having the same exact dilemna right now. I carry my laptop with me everywhere but I think it is still worth having the bigger screen and therefore less strain on the eyes.

What are you using it for? At home or at work, or commuting? MacBooks get somewhat better wireless, and so are nice if you're taking it all over the place; if it'll spend most of its time on your desk at home or work, MacBook Pro seems great (since it's not your wallet).

I'm unclear on why it has to be a Mac.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
