Doxory?

melike has decided On purchasing a domain name for my personal website...

Asked 1 year ago

Have it be my full name dot com, even though I hate my last name and can't wait to get it changed when I get married.

trs, jesse, bcat, beppu, sartak, acme

My choice: Try to think of another one that still has my first name in it, which is very difficult because my first name is already taken. (I'm thinking queenmelike.com, but I'm iffy, so please submit suggestions if you have any. Hah.)

If you're planning to change your last name and don't plan on keeping the same username, go with something else.

Just buy all name you like. It's not very expensive.
kyrandil
have you never had a pseudonym?

If you intend to change your last name, and have any hope of turning your domain into something useful, do not use your last name as part of the domain!

Pick something that doesn't directly have to do with your name, but is a (rare) word or short phrase you like, and that is adaptable to various formalities.

Domain names are cheap. Grab your full name now. You can always grab another one when you get married and change your name, and have your email forwarded, and web servers redirected to the new one at that point.

I dont know your name and well, "melike" could be "me like" or "Melike" -- which is incidentally a proper first name in some languages and I do not know if it is yours... But I could suggest continuing with the word play.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
