Doxory?

madcaptenor has decided I have window air conditioners in my windows.I don't like the feeling of recirculated air or large electric bills. But I also don't like feeling kind of sick from being in a hot apartment for many hours a day. (If it makes a difference, I live in Philadelphia.)

I'm going to go with the fans except when it's impossible. It seems to be working now, but come July I might wonder what the hell I was thinking. But yay for fresh air!

turn up the air conditioning anyway.

My choice: use fans, open windows, etc. to keep cool.

I'm firmly of the belief that interior and exterior temperatures should correlate, at least within reason, so I'd only use the AC if it gets above 90 or so in your apartment, and use fans until then. Besides, the fresh air smells nice.

Use fans, etc, and try to stay outside or not closeted indoors during the day. At night use fans and possible a slight bit of A/C to help you sleep. Also, cold showers, lots of water, loose light clothing.

Open your windows at night and then close them and curtains during the day. That will go a long way towards keeping the house cool. You'll probably want to have at least one air conditioner anyway to keep select room(s) a bit colder or for especially hot afternoons.

Put a/c into a single small room (office? bedroom?) where you can retreat on the days that you feel fans and windows are insufficient.

Last time I visited Philly it seemed a lot less humid than Boston, so maybe fans would be sufficient.

A/C only in your bedroom. Cool showers otherwise. You will learn to adapt to hotter weather in about a season, and it will make you happier for the rest of your life.

Use the fans when it's cool enough, and fallback to a/c when it's unavoidable.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
