Completely forgot to call. But it worked out very well, and less time waiting than usual because of the earlier appointment time working with trains!

Call at ~0630 when I leave here, hoping (incorrectly) that someone will be there? Or call Monday (despite it being a holiday)?

Call monday. get the answering service. ask if someone can call you immediately upon getting the message.

Both. The worst that can happen is that there won't be anyone there to talk to, and you'll have to go without confirmation anyway.
