Doxory?

gugod has decided I'm using a Mac, but need IE to test webapp. Bought a Parallels and got pretty satisfied with it. But I also want to try CrossOver because it went out pretty well in the 60 days of trial. The reason I chose Parallels is because I do need ActiveX support for using WebATM.

Go buy CrossOver. If it's not good, dump it. It's not expensive anyway.

Well, if you want to try it and you can afford it, go ahead. CodeWeavers are IME good people, and I'm generally in favor of supporting their work. :)

CrossOver, if it's what I think it is, isn't a VM... and they probably deserve some money.
roga
Try it. Give it a chance.

My choice: Don't buy at this moment. See how this Virtual Machine war goes.

I hate the startup cost of trying new things that disrupt my workflow, though.

cross over isn't a virtual machine. It's an emulator

If you're pretty happy with Parallels, stick with it until you have a reason not to.
erin
I usually just have parallels running and thus it's not hard for me to start another program. I don't really see much benefit to switching to CrossOver at this point, so I'd wait.

I know nothing about macs.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
