I can take care of some in my office over the summer for you if that's helpful (as long as they're hardy enough to go about a week without water when I'm out of the office in June).
Ask someone to take care of them for you. It's no real loss for them, and you'll get them back. (note in advance: I'm already caring for 7 of mine and 4 of a friend's, so my house is full :^(
You'll want them later, plants make a place feel nicer.
Really, this is what friends are for.
