Doxory?

melike has decided A freshman on my floor invited me to her birthday BBQ Sunday afternoon. I said I'd even help out with it. Two hours later, my boyfriend invited me to a bbq/picnic/party thing on an island for the entire day. For the past few days, he's been insisting that I go to his thing.

Stick with my decision and go to the freshman's barbecue? (She had 16 steaks mailed to her from Nebraska.)

will something bad happen if you don't go to your boy's thing? You did sort of give your word the other way first, and she's already invested some effort into it. In the worst case, you could ask her what she would do in the situation.

Stick with the frosh. She probably needs the support of someone older, and your boy not understanding the prior commitment and her need for support and help is silly.

If you agreed to help out with it, you should follow through. Your boyfriend should understand.

Actually, the steaks tip it for me. Go to the barbecue.

Tell her that something else came up and go to the boyfriend's party instead?

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
