Doxory?

kevinr has decided Found an apartment in SF which would be very nice, was told "you made the short list" a week ago, and responded a couple days later indicating I was interested. I haven't heard back since.

My choice: Poke them again. Those darn Californians might have been, I dunno, surfing instead of checking their e-mail obsessively like New Englanders are wont to do

Poke! People get swamped and forget sometimes.

I resemble that remark.

but do start sending out more inquiries again anyway

Worth poking them again in a polite fashion. Though do start looking again just in case.

If it's been a week poke them. You'll need to find housing...

Nothing wrong with inquiring what's up, if you haven't heard from them in a while.

it's good to make it clear you want it.

Wait. Chill, dude. No news is good news. If you've got a chance, they'll get back to you. And start sending out more enquiries again.

Poke them again _and_ start sending out more enquiries again.

If it's been more than a week since you poked them, it's probably ok to poke again.

If you make a stupid choice because a website tells you to, it's your own damn fault.
