I picked something else
Get the Nikon D40 (6MP), save $200 to spend on lenses or other accessories.

Apart from the difference being 4MP, not 2, I'd say go for the D40. In DSLRs you don't need an overly high MP anyway. The lenses would be a better investment IMO.
Spend the extra $200 for the new Nikon D40x (10MP), the exact same camera but with 2 extra mega pixels.
